Robredo, four others to receive traditional university awards in Ateneo
Jesus “Jesse” M. Robredo
Jesus “Jesse” M. Robredo and four others will be accorded by the Ateneo de Manila University on July 16 with the Traditional University Awards for their exemplary performance in their respective fields.
University President Fr Jett Villarin, SJ, announced that these individuals were chosen by the Board of Trustees because they were men and women who exemplified the values of the University.
First among the awardees is a posthumous recognition of the work of Robredo. He will receive the Government Service Award because as mayor of Naga City for nineteen years, and as secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), he was a true servant leader. It is the Ateneo de Manila’s hope that Robredo’s achievements in upholding good governance, competency, transparency, and accountability may be replicated in all branches of government service.
