LBC, Microsoft renew enterprise deal on IT infrastructure
LBC Express Inc., the only global Filipino company that offers cargo and courier money remittance and business solutions, continues its partnership with Microsoft Philippines to improve and sustain its IT infrastructure based on a standardized Microsoft platform. In 2008, LBC recognized the need to have critical software installed to achieve these goals and support the business so the company sought the help of Microsoft to improve its information technology (IT) system by setting up a framework for core infrastructure and business productivity solutions such as Office, Exchange and Office Communications Server, Active Directory, Forefront Security and SharePoint. The company remains to be in partnership with Microsoft to revolutionize its IT system on the Microsoft platform. Both LBC and Microsoft recently signed the renewal of their Enterprise Agreement (EA), a licensing program for organizations that want to standardize IT across the enterprise and enhance its robustness and flexibility at the same time. “Microsoft has been our partner for the past three years and we do believe that this partnership will help drive our business further,” said Javier Mantecon, Chief Resource Officer, LBC Express Inc. “It is critical for our business to provide and access real-time information and with the help of Microsoft, we look forward to experiencing a smoother and more efficient system, both for our employees and customers.” “We are proud to have LBC as our partner in business and growth, and we are fully committed to work towards helping LBC stay true to its business direction and provide nothing but the best for its employees and customers alike,” said Karrie Ilagan, Enterprise and Partner Group Director, Microsoft Philippines. Under the renewed EA, LBC is set to expand the reach of their standardized Microsoft infrastructure to cover not only its headquarters, but branch leads in Metro Manila as well. Aside from software and hardware upgrades, lead branches will also be equipped with the same end-to-end solution ranging from productivity, unified messaging and collaboration to business intelligence. Ilagan added that by enhancing LBC’s productivity and communications systems, the company is now poised to take on greater challenges with high-quality performance offered across over 750 branches serving Filipinos all over the world. “Microsoft powers our robust core business applications, which serves as the platform for our business’ bread and butter. The infrastructure that we built keeps our operations online and we are confident that Microsoft has what it takes to assist us in keeping up with a rapidly emerging and highly competitive global market,” explained Mantecon. —Joint statement of Microsoft Philippines and LBC Express
