Inihayag ni Pilar Pilapil na hindi siya sang-ayon sa pananaw ni Gloria Diaz na, “99% of beauty is youth.” Alamin ang kaniyang paliwanag kung bakit.

“I don’t, I’m sorry. Beauty to me is something that needs to age like wine,” sabi ni Pilar sa “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” nitong Miyerkoles nang tanungin kung pabor din siya sa naturang pahayag ni Gloria na isa ring dating beauty queen.

“I remember those pictures that I had when I was very young, and I didn’t look as… This is my opinion. I look better when I was already older. Not when I was very young, definitely,” pagpapatuloy niya.

Para kay Pilar, maraming dinadaanang pagsubok ang isang babae na humuhubog sa kaniyang kagandahan.

“Because in the first place you go through many, many stages in your life as a young person. You go through, for instance, a heartbrokenness, you go through so many problems and struggles in life. It takes time to be happy,” sabi pa ni Pilar.

“So when you are happy, that’s when you become beautiful,” dagdag niya.

"I remember that," sabi ni Pilar. "I said, 'What do you think?' And he smiled and then I went."

Sinabi pa ni Pilar na hindi niya hinahangad noon ang manalo.

"I wasn’t thinking of that. I was not really a full-grown woman. I was just a kid. I was a young girl," sabi niya sa King of Talk.

“I was surrounded with beautiful women and some gentlemen that were eyeing us around. it was quite an experience but as a young girl, it was quite overwhelming," sabi ni Pilar.-- FRJ, GMA Integrated News
