Sa episode ng “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” nitong Huwebes, tinanong ng King of Talk si Maxene Magalona kung ba kaya niyang makipagkaibigan sa kaniyang mga ex.
“Of course, especially if the connection was really good and special. But out of respect for your current partner, I wouldn’t want to be friends with my ex,” saad ni Maxene.
Ipinunto ni Tito Boy na hamon din kung minsan ang hindi pakikipagkaibigan sa mga dating nakarelasyon, dahil sa tagal ng pagsasama at pareho ng lugar na inikutan.
“But for me, when it comes to exes, I can be civil and I will say hi, and I will be cordial and respectful because that’s a human being pa rin eh. Even if hindi kayo nag-end on good terms or it didn’t work out, you still have to respect that that person is just like you. Pareho lang kayo na hindi kayo perfect,” saad ni Maxene.
Inilahad ni Maxene ang pinakamahalagang leksyon na kaniyang natutunan pagdating sa pag-ibig.
“Don’t ever lose yourself. Don’t lose yourself loving someone else. Because at the end of the day, you are only able to love others as deep as you love yourself,” paliwanag niya.
“So if you end up pleasing the other person while betraying yourself, that’s not love. It’s pleasing the other person so that you feel validated,” dagdag niya.
Nagsimula ang mga usaping hiwalay na si Maxene sa kaniyang asawang si Rob Mananquil noong Enero 2022.
Ikinasal sila noong 2018, kung saan nauna ang isang private church wedding bago ang isang seremonya sa Boracay.
