Ibinahagi ni Matteo Guidicelli ang sikreto sa matatag na relasyon nila ni Sarah Geronimo bilang mag-asawa, at kung paano nila inaayos ang problema sa kanilang pagsasama.
Sa "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" nitong Huwebes, tinanong ni Tito Boy si Matteo tungkol sa kaniyang mga natutunan makalipas ang tatlong taon mula nang ikasal sila ni Sarah.
“I always like asking older people or people that have more experience, that’s been in the marriage game for a long time. I always ask them, ‘Ano po ang sikreto sa isang successful na marriage?’ And they always say ‘respect, listen to one another,’” kuwento ng actor-host.
“But the one thing that always stands for me, ‘yung Matteo, God, Sarah. Always put God in the middle, that’s very important. When you have God in the middle, respect comes, collaboration comes, love comes,” pagpapatuloy ni Matteo.
Para kay Matteo, ang kasal ay hindi lamang nakabatay sa kontratang kanilang napagkasunduan ni Sarah, kundi ito’y pakikipagtipan sa Diyos at sa isa’t isa. Kaya hangga’t maaari, pinag-uusapan nila ang kanilang mga hindi pagkakaunawaan.
“The day we got married, Feb 2020, we have a covenant, not just on paper, but to our faith kumbaga. May times talaga magdidiskusyon kami, hindi ganito, hindi ganiyan. So at the end of the day kahit sobrang puno ka na or kahit malungkot ka, you look at it this way. You have a covenant to one another, you have a covenant with your faith in God. Why are you here in the first place? What’s the purpose of this? What is the purpose of love?,” paliwanag niya.
Sinabi ni Matteo na hindi maiiwasang may mga pinagtatalunan sila ni Sarah.
“Every relationship has its own ups and downs and all. I think it’s a beautiful journey, a beautiful moment arguing, quarreling, happy moments, sad moments. At the end of the day kapag tapos na ang lahat, that’s life,” ayon sa aktor.
“We argue at times, but our days are more of fixing things, like ‘Love paano natin dadalhin ito?’ We have some discussions here and there, but they are all creative improvement for our individual being kumbaga,” kuwento pa ni Matteo.
Ngunit ang mga pagsubok umano ang nagpapatatag sa isang relasyon.
“All those little moments, it’s so beautiful that creates a single person to become stronger, better and more loving,” sabi ni Matteo.
Sinabi rin ni Matteo na sabay sila ni Sarah na nagdarasal bago matulog.
“Sarah makes it a point that we pray together before going to bed. That’s something that’s naturally there,” sabi niya. “We pray out loud.”
Dahil sa kanilang relasyon, nadiskubre rin ni Matteo ang kaniyang mga limitasyon bilang isang asawa.
Nagpasalamat si Matteo sa pagprotekta ni Sarah sa kanilang relasyon.
“I know my boundaries as a husband and I’d like to protect that. Before we got married we dated for a long time. And I believe Sarah really protected our relationship. How? Being private and being silent from our industry. I’m very thankful for that,” patuloy niya.
Kung mayroon mang importanteng leksiyong natutunan si Matteo sa buhay may-asawa, ito ay ang makinig.
"Listening. It’s very important to listen, not just to hear. You have to listen and absorb and reciprocate that way," ayon kay Matteo.
Inilarawan ni Matteo si Sarah bilang “amazing” na asawa.
"Marriage is such a beautiful journey, such beautiful moment, such a beautiful experience. Because it’s about two different people from corners of the ring, two corners of life, with different likes and wants, joining together and synergizing together,” ani Mateo.
