"There are many, I think. I've been very vocal about suffering through depression and anxiety, and especially last year. I actually suffered through, maybe six months of just sporadic bouts of anxiety, and it was really difficult kasi 'yung anxiety ko, nagti-trigger siya with things that I loved doing."

"So I would get anxiety attacks while I was on the plane, or I get anxiety attacks while I was reading or swimming.

"And I think, you know, going through all those difficult things really helped me grow in character, especially when it comes to my Christian faith. Parang sobrang naging dependent ako kay God through those difficult seasons and at the same time, na-humble ako kasi for the longest time I think I have this arrogance, hindi naman bad arrogance, but this kind of grip in me where I would always think na 'I'm a strong character, I'm a strong woman. I'm able to go and step whatever life throws at me na I will be able to conquer, right?'," paliwanag niya.

"But when you suffer through anxiety and depression and you really can't control anything, parang every circumstance around you is supposed to tell you, 'You're having a good life' but for some reason your mental health is not just matching your circumstances."

"So it really humbled me in the sense na parang naintindihan ko na there are really some people who might have amazing incredible lives but they suffer through these incredible things, 'cause may mga bagay lang talaga tayong hindi mako-control. And once you humble yourself and you realize God is in control and the people around you are there for a reason. Then you power through it," pahayag niya.

"I think that's the most important conversation we can have about mental illness, especially, and people who are going through rough time and may be mental illness or relational problems or whatever rot you're in right now. It's really a matter of realizing na, alam niyo, may mga tao sa paligid who care, who would want to listen and help you through that.
