Patuloy ang paglakas ng bagyong "Marce" habang papalapit sa kalupaan, at inaasahang tatama at dadaan sa Babuyan Islands o sa northern portions ng mainland Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, at Apayao o sa Huwebes ng hapon o Biyernes ng madaling-araw, ayon sa PAGASA.

Sa inilabas na 11 a.m. bulletin ng PAGASA nitong Miyerkoles, inilagay sa Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals (TCWS) No. 3 ang northeastern portion ng mainland Cagayan, partikular ang bayan ng Santa Ana.

Nakataas naman ang Signal No. 2 sa mga lugar ng:

  •     Batanes
  •     Babuyan Islands
  •     The northern portion of mainland Cagayan (Gonzaga, Lal-Lo, Santa Teresita, Buguey, Gattaran, Baggao, Lasam, Abulug, Camalaniugan, Pamplona, Claveria, Aparri, Ballesteros, Allacapan, Sanchez-Mira, Santa Praxedes, Rizal, Santo Niño, Alcala, Amulung)
  •     The northern portion of Apayao (Calanasan, Luna, Pudtol, Santa Marcela, Flora, Kabugao)

Habang Signal No. 1 sa mga lugar ng:

  •     Ilocos Norte
  •     Ilocos Sur
  •     Abra
  •     The rest of Apayao
  •     Kalinga
  •     Mountain Province
  •     Ifugao

Namataan si Marce sa layong 305 kilometers east ng Tuguegarao City, Cagayan o 315 kilometers east ng Aparri, Cagayan. Kumilos ito sa bilis na 10 kilometers per hour (kph).

Taglay ni Marce ang pinakamalakas na hangin na 150 kkp malapit sa gitna, at pagbugso ng hanggang 185 kph.

“MARCE will make landfall and traverse Babuyan Islands or the northern portions of mainland Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, and Apayao or pass very close to these areas from tomorrow afternoon to Friday (8 November) early morning,” ayon sa PAGASA.

“MARCE is expected to continue intensifying and may reach its peak intensity today its passage over the Babuyan Channel. Slight weakening is expected due to possible interaction with the terrain of mainland Luzon, although MARCE will remain as a typhoon throughout its passage within the PAR region,” dagdag nito.

Nagbabala ang PAGASA sa posibleng “moderate to high risk of life-threatening” storm surge sa bahagi ng Batanes, Cagayan, kabilang ang Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Ilocos Norte, at Ilocos Sur.

“There is a moderate to high risk of life-threatening storm surge reaching 2.0 to 3.0 m above normal tide levels in the next 48 hours over the low-lying or exposed coastal localities of Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Ilocos Norte, and Ilocos Sur,” paliwanag ng PAGASA.

Asahan ang heavy to intense rains sa Cagayan habang moderate to heavy rains naman sa Batanes, Isabela at Aurora mula sa Miyerkoles ng hapon hanggang Huwebes ng tanghali.

“Under these conditions, flooding and rain-induced landslides are likely, especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards as identified in hazard maps and in areas with significant antecedent rainfall,” ayon sa PAGASA.
