Padadalhan na ng subpoena ng Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality si Pastor Apollo Quiboloy dahil sa hindi niya pagsipot sa imbestigasyon ng komite kaugnay sa mga alegasyon laban sa pinamumunuan niyang religious group na Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC).

"Dahil nakapagpadala po ng dalawang imbitasyon, one by LBC and one by registered mail, pero walang sagot at attendance ni Pastor Quiboloy, the chair would move to subpoena Pastor Apollo Carreon Quiboloy for the next hearing of this committee," sabi ni Senadora Risa Hontiveros, na namumuno sa nabanggit na komite.

Ayon kay Hontiveros, nagpadala ng sulat si Quiboloy kay Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri. Hindi binanggit ng senadora ang detalye ng sulat pero inilagay umano ito sa "record" ng Senate committee.

Inaakusahan ang KOJC na sangkot sa large-scale human trafficking, rape, sexual abuse and violence, at child abuse.

Iniutos din ni Hontiveros na padalhan ng imbitasyon ng tatlo pang tao na nabanggit sa testimonya ng mga biktima sa isinagawang pagdinig.

Disyembre nitong nakaraang taon nang maghain ng resolusyon si Hontiveros upang paimbestigahan "in aid of legislation" ang KOJC  para masuri "whether our updated human trafficking laws are able to cover large-scale and systemic acts of trafficking done under the cover of a religious organization."

"Apollo Quiboloy, who styles himself as the 'Appointed Son of God and the leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ The Name Above Every Name (KOJC)', allegedly demands strict obedience from his full-time followers through brainwashing, psychological manipulation and constant threats of eternal damnation," saad ni Hontiveros sa resolusyon.

"Considering that the crimes were committed within the territorial jurisdiction of the Philippines and considering that crimes are taking place even at present as Quiboloy remains free to run operations of KOJC, it is imperative that an investigation be undertaken with dispatch," patuloy niya.

Dati nang hinamon ng abogado ni Quiboloy si Hontiveros na dalhin sa korte ang mga alegasyon, at tinawag nito na "deception" lang ang imbestigasyon sa Senado.
