Palace disappointed with PHL's poor showing at 2014 Asian Games
A Palace spokesperson on Sunday admitted that the Aquino administration is not too pleased with the lackluster performance of the Philippine National Team at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea.
The Philippines bagged only one gold medal in the recently concluded Asian Games, courtesy of Daniel Caluag in BMX cycling. The country managed to snag another three silver medals and 11 bronze medals in other sports categories.
Coloma noted that the dismal result should encourage the Philippine Sports Commission to re-evaluate their goals, adding that President Benigno Aquino III feels that sports where Pinoys have a competitive edge should be prioritized.
— Patricia Denise Chiu/JDS, GMA News
