NCAA Season 100

LPU eyes to extend streak in match vs Arellano; San Sebastian faces EAC

Lyceum of the Philippines University is eyeing its third straight win when it takes on Arellano University on Saturday, 11:00 a.m., in NCAA Season 100 at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.

The Pirates (6-5) have won back-to-back since the second round opened, notching wins against Colegio de San Juan de Letran and San Beda University.

Arellano (3-8), meanwhile, is experiencing the opposite as it fell back-to-back to league leaders San Beda University and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.

Back in the first round, LPU outlasted the Chiefs in OT, 90-86.

"We're going to treat them as contenders. Lahat ng kalaban namin, we're going to treat them as contender. Ayokong mag-relax ang players namin, team namin. Kahit sinong harapin namin, pang-Final Four ang kalaban namin para ibigay namin best namin," LPU head coach Gilbert Malabanan said.

San Sebastian College-Recoletos, on the other hand, will take on Emilio Aguinaldo College at 2:30 p.m.

The Golden Stags (3-8) are coming off a high as they arrested an eight-game slump after defeating Jose Rizal University. Meanwhile, the Generals (5-6) are hoping to bounce back after losing to Mapua University.

In the first round, EAC defeated San Sebastian, 97-86, behind Harvey Pagsanjan's career-high outing of 20 points.

"We'll take as a championship game every game, especially now sa stage na ito. One game at a time, talagang championship, championship. We'll stop until the last buzzer [sounds]," San Sebastian head coach Arvin Bonleon said.
