Colegio de San Juan de Letran will face De La Salle University in the Filoil Preseason Cup semifinals after the Knights defeated University of the East, 70-66, in the quarterfinals on Saturday in San Juan.
Deo Cuajao topscored the Intramuros crew with 22 points, while Jonathan Manalili added 19 points as Letran booked a slot in the semifinals.
La Salle, meanwhile, defeated San Beda University, 94-80, to advance to the next round.
Reigning UAAP Most Valuable Player Kevin Quiambao had 15 points, seven rebounds, and two assists for the Green Archers.
Letran was the only NCAA team to advance to the semis with San Beda falling to La Salle, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde falling short against Far Eastern University, and the University of the Philippines winning over Mapua University.
FEU's Jorick Bautista delivered the game-winning triple against Benilde, 74-73, to book a semis slot. On the other hand, the Fighting Maroons dominated the Cardinals, 94-75.
FEU will face UP on Sunday at 4 p.m., while the La Salle-Letran match will happen at 6 p.m.
