Ex-NCAA basketball player shot dead in Cotabato
A former basketball player was shot dead by an unidentified suspect in Cotabato.
According to Joseph Morong’s report in State of the Nation on Thursday, the victim Ken Fred “Kentoy” Segura - who played for the National Collegiate Athletic Association and the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League - suffered two gunshot wounds on his body.
The Cotabato Police Provincial Office said that Segura and his nephew were supposed to play in Barangay Pulanglupa. The two asked residents on their way for directions until the gunman appeared and shot them, it added.
The suspect also used the victim’s vehicle to escape.
His nephew survived the shooting incident.
The police were able to flag the vehicle similar to the one used by the gunman.
The driver was able to evade authorities, but his partner was arrested. Both of them are now considered persons of interest.
