Flowers pour for late ex-President Noynoy Aquino on Times Street
Flowers adorned Times Street in Quezon City on Thursday afternoon as supporters expressed their condolences and grief over the death of former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.
According to Chino Gaston’s report on “24 Oras,” hours after Aquino’s death was confirmed, some individuals arrived to offer flowers at the front yard of Aquino’s home.
This included a courier who was delivering flowers from an individual who condoled with the family of the former president.
Meanwhile, a woman brought yellow flowers, a color that has been associated with the Aquino family.
To give the family privacy, the gates on both ends of Time Street were closed down. Though individuals on foot may still enter to offer flowers, cars are prohibited from entering.
Meanwhile, a barangay LED bulletin board at the corner of West 4th and Times Street displayed the picture of Aquino. Those that were unable to enter Times Street placed their flowers there.
At present, individuals have been prohibited from offering flowers in front of the former president’s house.
Those who wish to offer flowers were directed to the bulletin board.
