Both the men's and women's teams of Arellano University swept San Sebastian College-Recoletos in the NCAA Season 100 volleyball tournament on Friday at the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA gym in Las Piñas City.
In the women's division, the Lady Chiefs took down the Lady Stags, 31-29, 25-12, 25-18. Laika Tudlasan led Arellano with 17 points anchored on 15 attacks, while Marianne Padillon and Pauline De Guzman added 12 and 11 points, respectively, as the Lady Chiefs extended their winning streak to three and improved to 5-3.
Kath Santos and Tina Marasigan, meanwhile, had nine points apiece as the Lady Stags slipped to a similar 5-3 record.
The Chiefs, on the other hand, defeated the Golden Stags in the men's division, 25-18, 25-16, 25-20.
Jake Pangilinan had 14 points from 10 attacks and four blocks, while Jiwen Sinuto added 11 points as Arellano improved to 5-3.
Kyle Villamor had nine points, while Joshua Espenida and Christian Alba had eight points apiece as the Golden Stags went down to 1-7.
Arellano will still face Emilio Aguinaldo College on Thursday, while San Sebastian will take on Colegio de San Juan de Letran to cap the first round of the tournament.
