San Beda snaps back-to-back losses in NCAA men's volleyball at expense of LPU

San Beda University returned to its winning ways at the expense of Lyceum of the Philippines University, 25-13, 25-22, 27-29, 25-16, on Friday in the NCAA Season 100 men's volleyball tournament at the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA in Las Piñas City.

Dominic Castañeda had 23 out of the Red Spikers' 24 excellent sets as five players scored in double digits in the victory after falling to Colegio de San Juan de Letran and Mapua University.

Axel Van Book led the Mendiola crew anew with 22 points from 19 attacks, two blocks, and an ace, to go with seven digs and 10 excellent receptions. Ralph Cabalsa added 10 points, while Alener Munsing had 11 points. Anrie Bakil and Mark Montemayor also chipped in 10 points as San Beda improved to 5-4 to end its first round campaign.

Jun Frank Edang had 16 points, while Jhon Icon Aquino had 14 points as LPU slipped to 1-7.

LPU will still face Emilio Aguinaldo College on Thursday.
