Benilde downs EAC to go 7-0 in NCAA men's volleyball; Lady Blazers sweep EAC

De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde outlasted Emilio Aguinaldo College, 25-22, 25-21, 23-25, 19-25, 16-14, to remain perfect in the NCAA Season 100 men's volleyball tournament on Thursday at the Generals' home court in Manila.

After being limited to eight points in their game against Lyceum of the Philippines University, Rocky Roy Motol bounced back with 19 points anchored on 18 attacks, while Christian Aguilar had a triple-double performance of 17 points (16 attacks, 1 block), 10 excellent digs, and 21 excellent receptions as the Taft-based squad improved to 7-0.

Frelwin Taculog, meanwhile, had 14 points as EAC slipped to 2-5.

In the women's division, the Lady Blazers made quick work of EAC, 25-14, 25-12, 25-13, in a match that took only around an hour.

Wielyn Estoque had 13 points, while Zam Nolasco had 11 points as Benilde extended its winning streak to three and improve to 6-1.

Xyra Dayanan, meanwhile, led the Lady Generals with 12 points as they slipped to 1-6.
