Mapua University continued its surge in the NCAA Season 100 women's volleyball tournament after sweeping Jose Rizal University in its own gym, 25-21, 25-22, 25-15, on Friday.

The Lady Cardinals extended their winning streak to four and improved its win-loss record to 4-2, while the Lady Bombers slipped to 1-5.

Raissa Ricablanca once again starred for the Intramuros-based squad with 19 points anchored on 18 attacks, while Freighanne Garcia had 11 points, on top of 12 excellent digs and five excellent receptions. Nicole Ong added 11 points from six attacks, three blocks, and two aces.

Patricia del Pilar, meanwhile, had 10 points for the Lady Bombers.

While the Lady Cardinals have been on a roll, head coach Aying Esteban is still wary about his wards' consistency. Mapua had 19 errors, while JRU had 17.

"'Yung consistency pa rin ng players sa errors namin, medyo bothering pa rin. Kailangan pa namin 'yun i-less and pagtrabahuhan," Esteban said.

Mapua will next face San Beda University on March 29, while JRU will try to bounce back against Arellano University on March 28.
