Ramos, San Andres tow Mapua past JRU to remain undefeated in NCAA men's volleyball

Arjay Ramos and Barbie San Andres connived anew to tow visiting Mapua University past home team Jose Rizal University, 25-22, 25-15, 24-26, 25-21, on Friday in the NCAA Season 100 men's volleyball tournament at the Heavy Bombers' gym in Mandaluyong.

Ramos and San Andres had 23 points apiece as the Cardinals remained unbeaten in six games.

Ramos, who was recently named Collegiate Press Corps NCAA Player of the Week, was efficient on both ends with 18 attacks, three aces, and two blocks, on top of 11 excellent digs and seven excellent receptions.

San Andres, meanwhile, had 21 attacks and two aces to go along with 12 excellent digs.

Marlowe Jamisola added 12 points, while Juancho Barba had 21 out of Mapua's 26 excellent sets on top of scoring two points.

Jake Fernandez, on the other hand, led the Heavy Bombers with 17 points from 14 attacks and three blocks, while Bryle Alipan had 10 points as JRU remained winless in six games.

Mapua will return to action on March 29 against San Beda University, while JRU will play Arellano next Friday.
