Rogelio "Onyok" Getigan, Jr. may be listed as the head coach of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, but Jerry Yee's system will stay for the Lady Blazers.
Benilde listed Getigan as the new head coach of the Taft-based squad.
The development happened after Yee's status was inquired by Arellano University, citing a league rule that prohibits a head coach of a professional club from handling a participating team in the NCAA. Yee also handles ZUS Coffee in the Premier Volleyball League.
The league's volleyball committee, however, said that Yee and Benilde did not violate the said rule, while Arellano has accepted the committee's decision.
"Ako lang naman ang nilagay pero sistema pa rin ni Coach Jerry [Yee] ang ginagamit namin talaga," Getigan said after Benilde's victory against Jose Rizal University on Saturday.
Getigan added that Yee will stay as assistant coach.
"Puwede pa rin siyang umupo, assistant coach siya. Hindi siya mawawala as [part ng] coaching staff," added Getigan.
Getigan is also Yee's deputy in ZUS Coffee. He also previously handled teams such as Strong Group Athletics in the PVL and Adamson University in the UAAP.
Benilde, meanwhile, is currently at 2-0 in the Season 100 women's volleyball tournament.
