San Sebastian College-Recoletos defended its home court as it defeated Mapua University, 25-18, 25-19, 20-25, 25-21, on Friday in the NCAA Season 100 men's volleyball tournament at the San Sebastian campus gym in Manila.

The Lady Stags led 22-19 in the fourth set before the Lady Cardinals were called for a net touch violation. A quick attack from Nicole Ong put Mapua at 20, but Divine Garcia then put San Sebastian at match point. An attack error gave the Lady Cardinals a slim chance, but Kath Santos eventually finished the match and sealed the win for San Sebastian.

"Maganda ang nilaro ng mga rookie kaya nagkatulungan, kaya kami nanalo, though maraming error pa rin. Aayusin na lang," said coach Roger Gorayeb.

Veteran Tina Marasigan had 24 points, while rookie Divine Garcia had 13 points. Katherine Santos added 11 points.

Ong led the Lady Cardinals with 16 points, while Raissa Ricablanca added 12 points.

San Sebastian will next face Emilio Aguinaldo College, while Mapua will face Lyceum of the Philippines University on March 7.
