Players who were handled by multi-titled coach Sammy Acaylar shared on social media their messages of appreciation for the long-time volleyball mentor.
Acaylar passed away on Thursday at the age of 65.
Reigning NCAA Most Valuable Player Louie Ramirez said he will not forget the lessons he learned from the tactician.
"Hinding-hindi namin makakalimutan 'yung mga memories kasama ka, mga aral na tinuro mo samin. Maraming salamat sa gabay at pangaral mo sa'min coach Sam! Isa kang alamat para sa'min coach," Ramirez wrote in his post.
EJ Casaña, meanwhile, is thankful for being a part of Acaylar's successful teams.
"I am forever thankful for being part of your champion team," Casaña wrote.
Des Clemente also wrote a message for the late Acaylar who she considers as her mentor.
"From Day 1 at sa mga motivations and inspirations, kasama kita sa lahat ng laban nung nag-uumpisa ko inside and outside ng court, 'di kita makakalimutan," Clemente wrote.
Jheck Dionela, meanwhile, had a short message for the long-time Perpetual coach.
"Rest easy, Coach Sammy. Maraming salamat po sa lahat."
Acaylar, who steered the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA to 14 men's volleyball titles in the NCAA, is considered by the university as the 'heart and soul' of the program.
"Coach Sammy was not just coach of the UPHSD Men’s Volleyball Team, he was the heart and soul of the program. He was a beloved mentor and friend to some of the best men’s volleyball players in the country. With unwavering dedication and passion, Coach Sammy shaped and inspired countless lives."
