NCAA Season 98 MVP Louie Ramirez invited to train with Japanese club Oita

Reigning NCAA MVP Louie Ramirez of University of Perpetual Help System DALTA has been invited to train with Japanese club Oita Miyoshi Weisse Adler.

Ramirez, who played a huge role in the Altas' three-peat run last April in Season 98, will  attend Oita's training session for three weeks and will be accompanied  by Perpetual assistant coach Macky Cariño.

The 6-foot-3 high-flyer is expected to arrive in Japan before August 16.

"Masaya po ako kasi madadagdagan 'yung knowledge ko sa volleyball," Ramirez said.

"At nakaka-proud po, kasi maraming malalakas na players dito sa atin sa Pilipinas bukod po sa akin, pero ako po 'yung na-invite para mag training, sobrang excited din po ako na makakapunta ako ng Japan."

(I'm happy because I'll learn more about volleyball. I'm also proud because among the strong players here in the Philippines, I was the one invited to train, and I'm also excited to go to Japan.)

Ramirez got the go signal from Perpetual head coach Sammy Acaylar as it will help his top spiker prepare himself in their bid to retain the title in Season 99.

"I allowed Louie to train abroad para mas lalo siyang gumaling at marami pang matutunan sa larong volleyball na madadala nya dito sa team, sa NCAA at sa bansa," Acaylar said.

(I allowed Louie to train abroad so he can be better and the lessons he will learn will be brought to the team, to the NCAA, and to the country.)

Oita is the same team that Filipino national team player Bryan Bagunas had played from 2019 to 2022.
