San Beda University is set to undergo a facelift anew as the school tapped Edgar Barroga to lead the women’s volleyball program ahead of the NCAA Season 99.
The team announced the development on Thursday.
This is third time in as many seasons that the Lady Red Spikers changed their head coach. Nemesio Gavino called the shots in Season 97 and was replaced by Ariel Dela Cruz in Season 98.
The Mendiola crew finished eighth back in Season 97, racking up two wins against six losses before winding up ninth last season behind a gloomy 1-8 win-loss card.
Barroga is a familiar face in the volleyball scene, coaching semi-pro teams Cignal and Sta. Lucia in the defunct Philippine Super Liga (PSL). He was also the head coach of Gerflor in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).
