Arellano eliminates Letran; San Beda sweeps San Sebastian

Arellano University eliminated Colegio de San Juan de Letran from Final Four contention after a sweep in the NCAA Season 98 men's volleyball tournament, 25-15, 25-18, 25-22, on Saturday at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila.

Carl Berdal posted 17 points anchored on 14 attacks, two blocks, and an ace in Arellano's penultimate game in the elimination round which gave them a 7-1 card ahead of their final elimination match against Emilio Aguinaldo College on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Letran wrapped its season with four wins and five losses.

 

 

In the afternoon game, San Beda University swept San Sebastian College-Recoletos, 25-20, 25-19, 25-17, to bolster its Final Four bid.

Kenrod Umali had 13 points, while Jerome Lopez had 21 excellent sets on top of his four point-performance.

With the win, San Beda ended the elimination round with six wins and three losses.

A Mapua University loss against University of Perpetual Help System DALTA on Sunday will complete the Final Four cast for the men's division as Arellano, EAC, and San Beda all have at least six wins.
