San Andres posts season-high 34 points as Mapua outlasts EAC; JRU beats San Sebastian

Barbie San Andres posted a season-high 34 points to tow Mapua University past Emilio Aguinaldo College in a five-set thriller, 21-25, 26-24, 25-23, 22-25, 15-12, on Saturday in the NCAA Season 98 men's volleyball tournament at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila.

San Andres' 34 points were anchored on 30 attacks, three aces, and a block to give the Cardinals a 5-2 card. EAC, meanwhile, went down to 4-2.

 

 

Meanwhile, Jose Rizal University won its third match out of seven at the expense of San Sebastian College, 25-20, 25-21, 25-27, 26-25, behind Windel Laurenciana's 18 points. Bryle Alipe and CJ Dela Cruz had 15 and 12 points, respectively, while Kenneth Daynata added 10 of his own.

With the win, JRU improved to 3-4 while San Sebastian went to 1-6.

Mapua hopes to improve its semis bid as they face San Beda and University of Perpetual Help in their two remaining games, while EAC will face San Sebastian and JRU next.
