Arellano University and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde notched wins in their respective assignments in the NCAA Season 98 men's volleyball tournament on Saturday at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila.

In a battle which may be considered as a preview of a potential Final Four clash, the Chiefs took down the Cardinals, 15-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-19.

AC Guinto was a golden spot for the Chiefs with 12 points off 10 attacks and two blocks to improve Arellano's standings to 4-1. Mapua, on the other hand, went down to 3-2.

Earlier, Benilde opened Saturday's games with a sweep of Lyceum of the Philippines University, 25-19, 25-22, 25-23.

George Gauani had 11 points for the Blazers, while JP Fajardo had 13 excellent sets on top to give the Taft-based squad a 2-3 card. LPU remained winless in five games.

Benilde will be back in action on Tuesday against Mapua, while Arellano will play San Sebastian on Wednesday. LPU will face EAC on Tuesday as well.
