Reigning champion University of Perpetual Help System DALTA extended its unbeaten run in the NCAA Season 98 men's volleyball tournament after pulling off a sweep victory against De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, 25-18, 26-24, 25-15, on Tuesday.
Perpetual, seeking to win the crown for third straight time, improved to 4-0 while Benilde dropped to a 1-3 card.
Louie Ramirez once again shone for the Altas with 17 points on 16 attacks and one ace while Joshua Zareno chipped in 12 markers. George Gauani was the lone bright spot for the Blazers, finishing with 17 points alongside three digs.
Meanwhile, Emilio Aguinaldo College, who was the finalist in the recent men's beach volleyball tourney with Benilde, swept Colegio de San Juan de Letran, 25-23, 25-22, 27-25, behind the troika of Ralph Pitogo, Joshua Ramilo, and Bryan Cabrera.
Team captain Pitogo led the way with 19 points built on 18 attacks and one block while Ramilo churned out 17 markers while also collecting 16 receptions as EAC improved to 2-1.
Letran, on the other hand, slipped to a 1-2 card.
