Sans head coach, Benilde makes quick work of San Beda to remain undefeated

 

Playing without their head coach Jerry Yee, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde made quick work of San Beda University, 25-14, 25-15, 25-14, on Saturday in the NCAA Season 98 women's volleyball tournament at the San Andres Sports Complex.

The Lady Blazers opened the deciding set with an 8-1 run and the lead went up to 10 as they went 23-13 before eventually nailing the win.

Jade Gentapa was a two-way player for the Taft-based squad as she led with 15 points on top of 10 excellent digs and seven excellent receptions. Meanwhile, Gayle Pascual tallied 14 points off 12 attacks and 2 blocks.

Only four players scored for the Lady Red Spikers with Trisha Paras (8 points), Chynna Castillo (7 points), Katleya Molina (6 points), and Marianne Tayag (3 points).

With the win, Benilde notched their third straight win, while San Beda is still winless in three games.

Benilde will face the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA next on Tuesday, while San Beda will be back on Friday when they face Emilio Aguinaldo College.
