University of Perpetual Help System DALTA started their title defense bid on a high note as they swept Emilio Aguinaldo College, 25-22, 25-22, 25-22, in the NCAA Season 98 men's volleyball tournament on Sunday at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila.
The Generals managed to salvage a match point before Louie Ramirez sealed the deal for Perpetual.
Ramirez tallied 15 points from 13 attacks, while Joshua Zareno listed 13 points from 10 attacks and three blocks. Jefferson Marapoc had 10 points.
Joshua Ramilo and Marvin Romero chipped in 13 points apiece in the EAC loss.
The ALTAs will play JRU on Tuesday, while EAC will face De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde on Wednesday.
