Mycah Go out for NCAA Season 98 due to injury

De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde will be missing one of their crucial players when they return for the NCAA Season 98 women's volleyball this February.

Reigning Most Valuable Player Mycah Go will be out for the season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and other injuries.

Go confirmed this development to GMA Integrated News on Thursday.

"Yes, I will not be playing for this season," Go said in a message. "I tore my ACL."

The NCAA Season 97 MVP also had a meniscal tear, minor MCL, and LCL strain.

Go suffered the injury after a tuneup game over the weekend.

The open hitter said she will undergo surgery for the injury this afternoon.

Despite skipping Season 98, Go is still confident that the Lady Blazers can still do a good performance in the upcoming season.

"There's nothing to worry. As lagi ko sinasabi, I'm not the only one leading the team and 'di lang nag-iisang senior," said Go, who is supposed to enter her third playing year. "May tiwala naman ako sa kanila. Andiyan naman 'yung eagerness din nila manalo."

("There's nothing to worry. As I always say, I'm not the only one leading the team and not the only senior... I have trust in them. Their eagerness to win is there.")

The Lady Blazers are the defending champions of NCAA women's volleyball. The Season 98 volleyball tournament is scheduled to open on February 18.
