De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde will hope to continue their undefeated run when they face Mapua University in Tuesday's action in the NCAA Season 97 women's volleyball tournament.
Undefeated in four games, CSB will go against the streaking Mapua University which has won three straight after their opening day loss. The faceoff will open today's games at 12 pm.
Mapua head coach Clarence Esteban admitted that the Lady Blazers are strong contenders, but hopes his players will grab the opportunity to stain CSB's record.
"Aminin natin malakas [ang] CSB, malay mo gumanda gising ng players ko," Esteban said on Friday after winning against University of Perpetual Help. "Kung magkaroon lang kami ng opportunity na maipanalo namin 'yun, iga-grab namin 'yun."
Meanwhile, CSB head coach Jerry Yee said they will go on with their routine scouting and strategizing for game plans. However, with 'complacency' issues that the team is facing, the mentor of the Taft-based squad said his players will need extra motivation.
"With complacency issues, kailangan lang i-explain sa bata kung ano ba talaga dapat kasi they lose focus pag napupuri ng tao or nai-interview na, naharap na sa camera."
For the second game at 2:30, Arellano University will gun for their fifth win of the season when they play the Colegio de San Juan de Letran.
The Lady Chiefs (4-1) took down Jose Rizal University in a four-setter, while the Lady Knights (1-4) fell to Lyceum of the Philippines University last Saturday.
