The College of Saint Benilde Lady Blazers cruised to a sweep of Emilio Aguinaldo College, 25-16, 25-16, 25-16, to remain unbeaten in the NCAA Season 97 women’s volleyball tournament on Friday.

CSB improved to 4-0 in the standings while dropped into a tie with San Beda at the cellar at 0-4.

The first set started in competitive fashion with EAC leading 10-9 before CSB unleashed a 9-1 run to surge ahead, 18-11. They would rattle off six unanswered points later in the set to go up 24-14 before ending the first set.

They carried some of that momentum into the second set, where they started off strong, 12-2. They cruised to a comfortable 23-10 lead before the Lady Generals showed some signs of life, responding with a 6-0 run to cut the difference down to 23-16.

But Jade Gentapa scored to put the Lady Blazers at set point and an EAC error ended the set at 26-16 again.

The third set ended with an identical scoreline as CSB cruised yet again.

Mich Gamit scored 11 points for the dominant Lady Blazers.
