Eager to book their second win in a row, University of Perpetual Help System DALTA got that extra lift they needed as they swept Emilio Aguinaldo College on Tuesday in the NCAA Season 97 women's volleyball tournament.

That came in the form of the presence of Sammy Acaylar, a renowned volleyball fixture for Perpetual who was on the sidelines as the Lady Altas asserted dominance over the Lady Generals in three sets.

According to head coach Sandy Rieta, having Acaylar on the bench was an added motivation for the team, especially with how the latter contributed to the success of the school in the sport.

"Syempre added motivation. Syempre, big boost sa amin kasi coach ko din siya nung player pa ako sa Perpetual," shared Rieta on the heels of their 25-21, 25-17, 25-7 conquest.

For the school's past two games, Acaylar settled for online streaming to be able to watch the ladies compete. But against EAC, Acaylar made sure to be there physically.

"Yes, first actual game [ko ito]," Acaylar, who is at the helm of the men's team, said.

"It's great, I think the girls are very good with the good coaches we have. And sometimes napapansin ko na meron silang lapses na pwede naman naming baguhin sa training."

According to Acaylar, he also sits as the school's executive coach for its volleyball program, including the men's, women's, and the juniors' teams.
