Did you know? Dingdong Dantes was once part of the San Beda cheering squad

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) schools do not only produce great athletes. They produce some of the most famous names in the local entertainment scene, too!

Take for example, Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes, who even was part of the San Beda Cheerleader Association back in the 1990's!

In Aubrey Carampel's "24 Oras report" on Thursday, Dingdong shared to 'Rise Up Stronger: The Road to NCAA Season 96' why he joined the cheering squad.

"Hindi ako masyadong pinagpala sa basketball eh. Baka naman meron akong ma-contribute kahit papa'no, then I joined. 'Yun ang first experience ko of being in a coliseum," Dingdong said in the episode which will air on Saturday.

"'Yun ang purpose ng cheering squad, to pump up not just the audience, but also the players for their morale," he added.

In a previous episode of "Rise Up Stronger" which aired on Monday, a clip from his San Beda days showed Dingdong performing during a game.

Aside from Dingdong, "Rise Up Stronger" host Sophia Senoron is also part of the San Beda community.
