Kailangan mo talagang aralin, parang magiging buhay ba."

Back in high school, Liwag played for St. Patrick School of Quezon City before trying out his luck with different collegiate teams.

In 2022, the big man, previously with the Generals, was invited to be part of the Gilas Pilipinas pool for the third window of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

Aside from being MVP, Liwag is also part of this season's Mythical Five and All-Defensive team as he claimed the Defensive Player of the Year plum.

He is the first player to be MVP DPOY since Prince Eze in Season 94.
