Emilio Aguinaldo College may have been a game short of fulfilling its Final Four dreams, but the march continues for the Generals.
The Generals fell short of reaching the Final Four in NCAA Season 100 as Lyceum of the Philippines University pulled off an upset against De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde last November 15.
Despite winning against Jose Rizal University in their final elimination round game, EAC's record was still not enough to break through.
The Generals finished the elimination round with a 9-9 win-loss record, while LPU made it to the Final Four with a 10-8 card.
"We're number 5 right now, we're improving," EAC head coach Jerson Cabiltes said after their final game. "Nung pumasok ako naging number 7, now number 5. Still, a game short for a play-in. We need to work harder in order to achieve that goal and fulfill that dream of making it into the final four and into the finals."
One lesson that Cabiltes and his squad will remember, however, is being consistent in all the games they will play, especially after this season's stiff competition among teams.
"Siguro talagang every game counts eh. We cannot be overwhelmed with a win or be down with a loss kasi halos succeeding games ang mangyayari. Kailangan ang focus and determination mo each game is consistent. 'Yung consistency to play 18 games, siguro 'yun ang kailangan mangyari so we could have a chance again for the Final Four next year."
EAC will not have the likes of seniors King Gurtiza, Harvey Pagsanjan, Axel Doromal, JC Luciano, and Erl Umpad next season, but Cabiltes said the squad still has players under residency like Oman Omandac who are ready to play in Season 101.
