NCAA Season 100

Benilde moves forward from loss to LPU, looks ahead to 'tough test' vs San Beda

De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde is moving forward after its loss against Lyceum of the Philippines University in its final elimination round game in NCAA Season 100.

The Blazers fell to the Pirates, 82-81, which saw head coach Charles Tiu vent his frustration online with how the end of the game unfolded.

Asked if his team plans to pursue any action regarding the said game, Tiu on Saturday said, "What’s there to do. They won’t change anything so it’s fine."

"It happens part of the game I guess," the Benilde head coach told GMA News Online in a message.

With the Final Four cast set, second seed Benilde will take on defending champions San Beda University and Tiu said it will be one tough challenge for the Taft-based squad as they aim for the crown.

"Tough test for us but I guess if you want to be the champions you have to go through them," said Tiu.

"We need to be better than the last time we faced them. They are a great team with a great coach and staff. Respect them a lot."

Benilde swept San Beda in the elimination round, with the first one finishing in overtime, 70-65, and the second one ending at 70-62.

The two teams will meet on Saturday at the Cuneta Astrodome, with the Blazers holding the twice-to-beat bonus.
