Charles Tiu vents frustration on social media after Benilde loss

De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde head coach Charles Tiu aired his frustration about how the finish of the game between his squad and the Lyceum of the Philippines University unfolded on Friday.

The Pirates eclipsed the Blazers, 82-81, to clinch the last Final Four spot of the men's basketball tournament.

Tiu was visibly frustrated on the court and after the match, he took to social media his thoughts particularly about the last play late in the game.

LPU was ahead 82-81 with 2.9 seconds left. Tony Ynot started the play, while Gab Cometa received it and took the shot, but Greg Cunanan blocked the said attempt.

No foul was called related to the said play, while Allen Liwag missed his final attempt afterwards.

Tiu posted a clip of the said play on X with the caption "LOL."

Prior to this, he also wrote on X, "What stupid s— is this" although he did not specifically pertain what he was referring to.

He also posted the said clip on Instagram and wrote "Trash. Hell no it wasn't blocked. More like sandwiched. The hell."

In a comment on a creator's account which posted the said clip, Tiu wrote, "What the hell are they watching. Embarrassing."

Despite the loss, Benilde is still Final Four-bound with twice-to-beat bonus as it awaits the results of the match between Mapua University and Arellano University on Saturday.
