San Sebastian College-Recoletos bucked a slow start to eliminate University of Perpetual Help System DALTA from the Final Four race, 83-72, in the NCAA Season 100 on Saturday, at the FiloIl EcoOil Centre.
Despite being out of semis contention, the Golden Stags continued their fight for pride after improving to 5-11, while also similarly kicking the ALTAs out of semifinal contention, who dropped to 6-11 in the standings.
Tristan Felebrico posted a game-high 18 points laced with seven rebounds and three assists as San Sebastian got back at Perpetual.
Reggz Gabat, for his part, caught fire from long distance after connecting on four of eight attempts to finish with 15 points, while Raymart Escobido and Paeng Are provided expected support with 14 and 12 points, respectively.
From down 19-7 in the first period, the Golden Stags picked up their slack and used a 25-7 second-quarter fightback for a 41-31 lead at the break.
The rest of the way came like a breeze for San Sebastian, with Felebrico pouring eight points in the last seven minutes of the game that left Perpetual unable to find solid answers.
Christian Pagaran and Mark Gojo Cruz paced the Altas with a combined 30-point outing, while Henry Montemayor had 10 points in the losing affair.
