NCAA action resumes with LPU vs Perpetual, JRU vs Letran matches | NCAA Philippines

After two postponed game days, NCAA Season 100 basketball action will return on Saturday.

The league announced on Friday the resumption of games after the scheduled matches last October 23 and 25 were postponed due to inclement weather.

Colegio de San Juan de Letran hopes to notch a second consecutive win as it takes on Jose Rizal University at 2:30 p.m. at the Filoil EcoOil Center in San Juan.

Coming off a high after surviving San Sebastian College-Recoletos in double overtime, 101-98, last Tuesday, Knights head coach Allen Ricardo is hopeful that they could still do something with their remaining games in the elimination round.

"Kailangan lang namin pag-aralan ulit 'yung bagong ginagawa ng JRU na team tendencies and individual tendencies," Ricardo said, adding that Kobe Monje is also expected to return to play on Saturday.

"Sabi ko sa kanila, we're down to our last six games so sa last six games, at least makalima tayo para most likely to secure the [number] three or four spot."

The Knights are currently at the fourth spot with a 7-6 win-loss card, while JRU has been on a four-game slump and holds a 3-9 record.

Back in the first round, Letran defeated JRU, 70-62.

Prior to this, Lyceum of the Philippines University will go against University of Perpetual Help System DALTA at 11 a.m.

The Pirates (6-6) are moving forward after falling to Arellano University last Saturday where JM Bravo went unconscious in the final moments of the game. Bravo, however, has recovered from what happened, but will not yet see action on Saturday.

The ALTAs (5-8), on the other hand, have lost back-to-back against San Beda University and Arellano.

LPU defeated Perpetual in the first round, 64-62.
