During Emilio Aguinaldo College's game against San Sebastian College-Recoletos, Generals star King Gurtiza was seen holding a rosary while on the sidelines of the match.
Asked about it, Gurtiza said having a rosary, while also listening to worship songs, gives him strength.
"Lagi ko siyang dala. Every game, naglalakad-lakad lang ako dito sa dugout. Nagdadasal, nakikinig sa worship songs. 'Yun ang nagbibigay ng lakas sa akin," Gurtiza told GMA News Online.
The EAC leader said it was a gift by his girlfriend who had it blessed while she was in Vatican City.
With a 4-5 win-loss card on their record, the Generals are still in a good position to enter the Final Four and Gurtiza said their recent win against the Golden Stags serves as a good springboard heading into the second round.
"Magandang momentum 'tong panalo na 'to kasi galing kaming talo na back-to-back," he said.
"Laging sinasabi ni coach (Jerson Cabiltes) na maging morale booster itong panalo na ito and dalhin namin sa second round."
EAC will go against University of Perpetual Help System DALTA on Friday.
