Yukien Andrada flaunted his veteran moves in overtime to power San Beda past Mapua in their finals rematch, 76-69, and extend their streak in NCAA Season 100 on Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The San Beda forward scored five of his team's 10 points in the extra period as the Red Lions picked up the crucial win and forged a three-team logjam at the second spot with the Cardinals and the Letran Knights, all of whom feature 6-3 win-loss cards.
Andrada finished with team-highs of 18 points and nine rebounds while James Payosing added 15 markers for the Red Lions.
Cyrus Cuenco topscored for Mapua with 20 points, including all of the Cardinals' points in the extra period, where they were outscored 10-3.
San Beda crawled back from a deficit as big as 13, leaning on the offense of Andrada, Payosing, and Penny Estacio to put away the Cardinals.
A triple to open the fourth from Andrada and a Payosing three-pointer saw the Red Lions ahead by one, 65-64, with 3:38 to go before Mapua's Chris Hubilla cleaned up a missed floater from Clint Escamis for the lead.
Escamis, who shot 7-of-19 from the field and finished with 19 points, fired blanks in the next two plays and Estacio fooled the Mapua defense to force another deadlock and send the game to overtime.
Then it was Andrada who got the job done, knocking down a huge triple before completing a floater over the defense of Hubilla for a 73-69 cushion. There was nothing the Cardinals could do from that point on as the Red Lions repeated over their Season 99 finals foe.
