NCAA Season 100

Letran, Perpetual aim for third straight win with familiar foes in Ricardo, Gojo Cruz | NCAA Philippines

Colegio de San Juan de Letran and University of Perpetual Help System DALTA are both eyeing to extend their streaks in NCAA Season 100 on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

The Knights currently hold a 4-2 win-loss record, with back-to-back wins against De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde and Emilio Aguinaldo College. The Altas, also with an identical 4-2 record, are coming off wins against the Generals and San Sebastian College-Recoletos.

Familiar foes will also be sharing the floor as Knights coach Allen Ricardo, who steered the Squires to back-to-back titles in the NCAA juniors basketball tournament, will take on former opponent Mark Gojo Cruz of the Altas.

Ricardo, along with Jovel Baliling, defeated the Junior Altas months ago in the Season 99 juniors finals in a three-game series.

"Galing naman talaga ni Mark, high school pa lang naman. So fit din siya sa tinatakbo ni Coach Olsen [Racela]," Ricardo said.

"In fairness din sa Perpetual, kahit ang daming umalis, it’s about time for them to step up their game... So, eventually ang ganda talaga ng tinatakbo ng Perpetual so it's a challenge for us how to defend and limit them."

Prior to that, San Beda University will face Arellano University at 11:00 a.m.

The Red Lions are currently at 3-2, while the Chiefs are at 1-5.
