Perpetual fends off San Sebastian for back-to-back wins

The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA fended off a late San Sebastian Rally, 60-52, to claim back-to-back victories in NCAA Season 100 on Tuesday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

The Altas improved to 4-2, while the Golden Stags were dealt their fourth straight loss.

The Altas had their biggest lead at 55-41 before the Golden Stags made an 8-0 run to cut the deficit, 55-49. However, Mark Gojo Cruz drilled a triple before free throws from Paeng Are put the Stags to within six, 58-52. Cedrick Abis' free throws off a Shawn Orgo foul sealed the deal for the Altas.

Christian Pagaran registered 12 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and a block, while Abis had 12 points, three steals, two rebounds, and an assist. Gojo Cruz, meanwhile, had 10 points for Perpetual.

Paeng Are, on the other hand, was limited to 11 points as San Sebastian slipped to 2-4.

The Altas will return to action on Saturday when they face Colegio de San Juan de Letran, while the Golden Stags will go against Mapua University on Friday.
