NCAA Season 100

Benilde eyes fifth straight win in match vs Letran; Arellano takes on San Sebastian | NCAA Philippines

De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde is eyeing to notch its fifth straight win when it takes on Colegio de San Juan de Letran on Sunday in NCAA Season 100 at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

The Blazers and the Knights will banner Sunday's games at 2:30 p.m., while Arellano University is still hoping to break through as it goes against San Sebastian College-Recoletos at noontime.

For Benilde head coach Charles Tiu, Letran should be on the radar of conversations for playoff teams.

"It's a big game for us. It's weird to me that nobody is talking about Letran, but I really think they're a good team," Tiu said. "Malalim din talaga ang Letran, they're coached very well."

"Coach Allen's a good coach, good friend. [This] should be an interesting game. They're a playoff team in my opinion so I hope we find a way to win."

Tiu, who is currently an assistant coach in Coverge, will also go against Pao Javillonar who the FiberXers drafted months ago.

"Dapat nag-Converge na lang siya para masaya pa ako, doble pa sana ang saya ko," Tiu jokingly said.

He described Javillonar, however, as a hard worker and admitted they should also prepare for him.

In the other game, the Chiefs hope to break a four-game skid.

"Kami naman, we're looking forward na mabigyan kami ng panalo, dere-derechuhin namin," he said.
