NCAA Season 100

EAC, JRU hope to win back-to-back as Perpetual, San Beda eye return to win column | NCAA Philippines

Both Emilio Aguinaldo College and Jose Rizal University are hopring for back-to-back wins as they take on respective opponents University of Perpetual Help System DALTA and San Beda University in NCAA Season 100 on Saturday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

The Generals demolished defending champions San Beda, 68-55, last Tuesday for their second win in the men's basketball tournament.

The win also ended a 27-game losing skid against the Red Lions and head coach Jerson Cabiltes is hopeful that the win sparks a run en route to the Final Four.

"Hopefully this game (vs San Beda) gets us on track in the coming games kasi even though if we ended this skid of losing to San Beda, walang kuwenta ‘yan if we’re not gonna make it to the Final Four," Cabiltes said on Tuesday.

"So the only record we’re concerned about right now is for EAC to make it to the Final Four."

EAC is hopeful that its winning ways continue when they meet the Altas, who have lost back-to-back, on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.

JRU, meanwhile, notched its first win against San Sebastian College-Recoletos, but is wary of how San Beda may vent its ire on the Heavy Bombers.

"Siguro naman like every game, we know na 'di kami upper hand. We're always the underdog. Especially [with] San Beda coming off a loss against EAC, we know that they're going to bounce back," JRU head coach Louie Gonzalez said, adding that he will still rely on the likes of MJ Raymundo who introduced himself to the NCAA with a 21-point, 13-rebound outing last Wednesday.

The JRU-San Beda match will commence at 2:30 p.m.
