Letran's Jace Miller introduces his game to the NCAA | NCAA Philippines

There's another Miller to watch out for in Colegio de San Juan de Letran.

Jace Miller on Friday scored 16 points as the Knights defeated Jose Rizal University to notch its first win in NCAA Season 100.

In just his first game for the Knights, Miller already proved to head coach Allen Ricardo that the decision to recruit him was right.

"Talagang I trust this kid, nanghinayang lang ako na di ko siya nagamit nung [laban kontra] San Sebastian. Nakita ko na siya sa US, I do believe na malaki ang potential niya, makakatulong talaga siya," Ricardo said after their 70-62 win.

"I took a gamble kasi knowing college basketball, they're disrupting, pressing a lot so malalim dapat 'yung bunot mo sa point guard."

Jace, whose mother is Filipina, also said it was the right decision to choose playing for the Knights.

"I got recruited by Coach Allen and he just made me feel that this is a place where I could be myself and play my game and thrive and I think today was a great example of him trusting me and me not letting him down," Miller said.

"It's been great. My teammates have been a great help in adjusting and getting used to the way they used to play here in the Philippines," he added.

With Titing Manalili out, Miller could fill in the gap left by Ricardo's trusted stalwart. However, the Fil-Am guard also emphasized that he is out to show his game and not just be a filler for whoever is out.

"There definitely is a hole to fill, but I'm gonna do me. I'm not Manalili so I'm gonna play my game and be with my teammates and find the best way to win," he added.

Also, to be clear, Jace said he is not related to Letran product and Squires coach Willie Miller, but he is ready to do his part in keeping the name good.

"I'm just happy to represent the name and keep it going."
