Jose Rizal University was a win or two away from entering the NCAA Season 99 Final Four as it closed the season with 10 wins and eight losses.
After last season, many of its veterans played its last playing year.
This time, the Heavy Bombers will hope that its new-look squad will deliver in Season 100.
"Siguro kalahati ng team namin bago kasi 'yung iba nag-pro na rin," team captain Joshua Guiab told GMA News Online.
From last season, only nine players will return for the league's centennial season.
Guiab is aware, however, that the team needs to mature early on in their game.
"Kailangan lang naming mas maging matured sa laro kasi nga marami sa' min mga bata. Kailangan namin magtulungan talaga as a team."
For the fourth year forward, being a vocal leader on the court is also something that he will work on.
"Para sa akin naman, matulungan ko 'yung team ko lalo na sa depensa and maging vocal ako sa loob kasi ako 'yung beterano ng team. Kailangan ko lang din maging mas matalino sa loob lalo na pag kasama sila kasi sakin sila titingin."
Aside from maturity, closing games is also on Guiab's list of things to improve for the team, and he expects Argente, Barrera, and Marvin Raymundo to do some of it as the season goes along.
"Kailangan namin maging mas malakas lalo na sa endgame, crucial game. Kailangan namin magtulong-tulong lalo," he added.
NCAA Season 100 will open on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena and the opening ceremony will air on Sunday on GMA and Heart of Asia.
