CEU star Daniel Marcelo transfers to Letran

Colegio de San Juan de Letran continues to build its future as it secured the commitment of college standout Daniel Marcelo, who has decided to transfer from Centro Escolar University.

Marcelo himself announced the development on Tuesday as he looks to join an already stacked Knights roster that is bent on reclaiming its lost glory in the NCAA.

"Thank you Coach Allen and to Agent D for helping with my decision. I can’t wait for what the future has in store for us. With that being said I will be committing to The Colegio de San Juan de Letran Knights," Marcelo said in an Instagram post.

The 5-foot-10 guard will serve a one-year residency before suiting up for the Muralla crew come Season 101, where he will get to form a deadly backcourt crew alongside Titing Manalili, Jovel Baliling, and another transferee in Jimboy Estrada.

Marcelo recently led CEU to a runner-up finish in the 2024 PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup, where the Scorpions made a surprise finals appearance after defeating favored San Beda University in the semifinals. But they faltered to eventual champion De La Salle University in the finals clash to emerge as the runners-up of the tournament.
