Patrick Sleat transfers from FEU to Perpetual

Patrick Sleat is set to bring his talents to Las Piñas.

After playing for Far Eastern University, Sleat will transfer to the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA.

The development was confirmed by Sleat himself and manager Charlie Dy of Virtual Playground to GMA News Online on Wednesday.

Sleat will be eligible to play in NCAA Season 101, where he is set to reunite with former coach Olsen Racela who now handles the ALTAs' program.

In the UAAP seniors division, Sleat played from Season 84 until the recent Season 86.

Sleat, in Season 86, posted averages of 7.71 points, 4.71 rebounds, 2.14 assists, and 1.07 steals per game as the Tamaraws finished with three wins and 11 losses.

Moving on

Prior to the official confirmation of Sleat's transfer to the Perpetual-based squad, ALTAs head coach Olsen Racela said the team is 'moving on' after the exit of some of its key players.

Among those who left the Las Piñas crew were Jun Roque, Mark Denver Omega, Cyrus Nitura, Joey Barcuma, and Carlo Ferreras.

"It's unfortunate. Before I accepted the job, I knew I had a solid core, 10-man rotation. But that's Philippine college basketball for you. We move on. We focus on those players who are willing to sacrifice and willing to commit," Racela told GMA News Online.

The new Perpetual coach said they are also checking on the ALTAs' high school program to look for student-athletes who can play eventually in the seniors division.
